It is now held annually from Wednesday through Saturday in mid-September. In 1978, Governor James Thompson declared Morton the “Pumpkin Capital of the World.”

This year the theme for the parade seemed to be “Super Hero’s”. The children all sat on the sidewalk waiting eagerly for the parade to start. The school bands marched away and they were awesome. There were balloons distributed to all the kids and the so many flying in the air the bright sky covered in yellow balloons looked pretty. People in the parade threw candy every, and the kids ran for it. The Pumpkin parade was an experience….
